Today I'm feeling like I ...

Can't wait until I have one of those jobs where all I have to do is go 'to work' and mow the lawn. Bliss.

Aaahhhhh

We seem to have turned a corner on a number of different things with Zoe, which has made life a little easier for both of us. Maybe they are all related. Vanilla yoghurt and milk arrowroot biscuits have proven to be favourite first foods - it seems it was just a case of finding something she liked. The challenge now is to diversify a little bit, by offering some of the veges I have cooked and frozen in readiness for when her appetite/tastebuds kick in. Feeding is now such a mess, but I'm just happy that she's happily accepting something. Am also trying to introduce water from a sipper cup...

Playtime is a lot more fun too, as baby is able to get onto her hands and knees [not really rocking back and forth yet] and then collapse forwards toward the object of her desire. Although she often gets stuck [draped across the top of the train toy], she won't immediately protest, but instead considers ways out of her predicament. Having this extra reach has reduced her frustration and given me a little bit of space to move too.

The final thing is a change to her waking at night. We only wake once, for a feed, in the early hours of the morning and then - dare I say it? - she is sleeping until 7am, in her own bed, rather than ours. While we miss the early morning cuddles, everyone is feeling a lot more refreshed. I hope this pattern continues, but with the impending arrival of daylight savings, and the house move in two weeks, who knows?

toe sucking

Started toe sucking yesterday, which is very cute and rather clever. Will try to get a photo, but I'm usually changing a nappy at the time, which makes it kinda hard.
